Description
Halon Series 4K HDMI over Ethernet allows you to leverage existing TCP/IP LAN infrastructure to distribute HDMI video and audio up to 4K@30Hz from a single source to as many as 253 remote displays by adding more receivers (additional receiver units available separately). The base kit includes one transmitter and one receiver, which can also work together in point-to-point mode without the need for a managed network.
4:4:4 and 4:2:0 chroma modes are supported, along with WQHD 1440p @ 30Hz and Full HD 1080p @ 60Hz video modes. One compromise to TCP/IP flexibility is latency, with up to 350ms delay between the input and the outputs. This device is not intended to circumvent content protection for streaming services, so HDCP signals are not guaranteed to function.
Basic setups can be configured with unmanaged switches, preferably on closed LANs. If connected to a network with WAN or internet access, we recommend a managed switch with a VLAN configuration to sandbox the AV-H-EX412 traffic locally and also limit bandwidth use to allow other services to run concurrently. Each sender and receiver unit comes with its own mains power supply. IR remote control repeating is also included so the source device can be controlled from any remote display.
